West Midlands Growth Company is supporting the ongoing development of the visitor economy in the region by tracking trends in visitor numbers and spend. A key component of this is the collection of footfall data, which we feed into the STEAM economic model. This data helps us speak collectively and authoritatively about the sector, in media interviews, to shape policy, and to inform investment decisions at local, regional, and national level. Last year’s research showed that the region attracted over 145 million visitors in 2023, representing a 3% increase compared to 2022.
Please provide your visitor footfall (either your recorded actual figures or best estimates) for the calendar years of 2023 and 2024 by 31st March 2025. If monthly data is unavailable, an annual figure is acceptable. We have been undertaking this research for over 10 years and all data remains confidential and is never linked back to an individual business.
