Paul Johnson

Paul has been Chief Executive at Solihull Council since February 2023 and prior to that, he was Director of Resources and Deputy Chief Executive at the Council.

Paul has over 40 years’ experience in local government, having worked for a number of local authorities in the East Midlands before joining Solihull.

He has been a CIPFA qualified accountant for 30 years. Paul was part of the team that worked on the financial aspects of the first devolution deal for the West Midlands in late 2015 and in particular, the arrangements for retaining business rates growth in the region.

Paul is the lead Chief Executive for the shareholder relationship with Birmingham Airport and is the lead Chief Executive for the UK Central development at Arden Cross, Solihull.
