Tata Elxsi - a global leader in design and technology services - is creating a wave of high-value technology and engineering jobs at its Coventry-based design hub, as the firm strategically expands its UK footprint. The investment plans reinforce Tata Group’s strategic commitment to the UK’s West Midlands region, which represents its largest presence outside of India.
Tata Elxsi’s Coventry design hub has been identified as the global Centre of Excellence for Cybersecurity and AI, aligned to its strategy for Software Defined Vehicles (SDV). The business is among the very few companies in the world focusing on such specialised areas of technology and is actively recruiting and training engineers for advanced cybersecurity for automotive customers globally.
Its efforts comply with stringent standards, including the UNECE R155/ R156 regulations and ISO 21434, a globally recognised standard for automotive cybersecurity.
Since establishing its design hub in September 2022, Tata Elxsi has significantly expanded its presence in Coventry, with over 100 engineering positions already recruited from prestigious West Midlands institutions, the University of Warwick, the University of Birmingham and the University of Coventry.
The creation of an additional jobs over the next three years emphasises the business’ commitment to driving UK-based innovation and design-led technological advancement, while supporting local communities through the creation of high-value jobs.
It forms part of a wider UK strategy focused on investing in future technologies. Tata Elxsi’s London Design Studio stands at the forefront of crafting futuristic automotive experiences under the ‘AutoX’ initiative. Meanwhile, Tata Elxsi plans to establish a network transformation lab in the UK to empower operators by leveraging AI-powered observability towards zero-touch automation of planning, deploying, and managing networks, applications, and services. Demonstrating further commitment to developing next-generation talent, Tata Elxsi is also proudly sponsoring Formula Student UK in collaboration with JLR.
