Becky Frall, Head of Tourism at the West Midlands Growth Company, said:

“We work closely and collaboratively with partners across the tourism industry in the West Midlands and nationally and welcome the Government’s support for the De Bois review’s recommendations to apply a more consistent structure and funding model.  We look forward to the learnings from the pilot and will explore and implement ways of working with partners that support the review’s findings and enable industry and destinations to work together to bring more visitors to this dynamic, diverse and exciting region.”

Andrew Lovett, Chair of the West Midlands Regional Tourism Board and CEO of the Black Country Living Museum, said:

“I’m delighted that Nick De Bois’ review into Destination Management Organisations has been endorsed by Government.  It provides much-needed clarity and support to the vital but fragmented tourism sector.  As Regional Tourism Board Chair, I’ll work with Mayor Andy Street, colleagues at the West Midlands Growth Company, regional partners and Visit Britain to grow sustainable tourism in the region in line with the recommendations.”
