Michelle Inkpen is the Director of Operations and Culture, and headed up the recent Business and Tourism Programme (BATP). BATP was a three-year tourism, trade and investment programme primarily focused on the UK and key Commonwealth markets to drive long-term economic benefits, boosting the West Midlands’ and UK’s global reputation as a world-class destination for tourism, trade and investment by showcasing Global Britain.

Michelle has a wealth of experience of Project, Programme and Portfolio Management gained in both Public and Private sectors.  She was most recently at HS2 Ltd as Head of Programme Interface delivering complex work streams, including strategic partner engagement with stakeholders such as Network Rail, Department for Transport and Utility Statutory Undertakers.

Michelle spent a number of years in the tourism sector at Eurotunnel and has led business capability, transformation and programme delivery contracts in Events and Leisure, and Marketing and Communications whilst at MITIE Strategic Outsourcing Group, implementing continuous improvement strategies with key stakeholders, supporting contract mobilisations and demobilisations.

She has worked alongside multiple, complex teams forging high performing and empowered individuals and understand the challenges of their roles and where they can add value. 

She is Prince 2, MSP, Change Management and Lean Six sigma qualified, with a diploma in strategic leadership and management, and has previously championed and created a new PMO capability, recruiting and embedding into business to oversee transformational change, governance and interdependencies, workforce planning, capability, collaboration, and ways of working. 

Previously, Michelle was part of the senior leadership team for Route Wide Systems, where she headed up the business change on behalf of the Exec for the programme ‘Developing our Company’ from 2016-2017, before moving into the programme interface role. 

Michelle is a Chartered Fellow of both the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
