Mary Morrissey is Director of Economy and Infrastructure at Solihull Council, a role she has held since February 2020. She has responsibility for environmental services, regeneration, planning, housing, transport, sustainability, culture, tourism, and community safety. She leads on discussions with HS2 and has overseen the submission of a Local Plan for inspection.
In her previous role as Strategic Director at the LB of Sutton, Mary established new models of service delivery: a housing company, a district energy company, a housing needs LATC and a shared highways, transport, and regulatory services arrangement with LB Kingston.
Mary has also worked for Coventry City Council and the LB Southwark, having begun her career as a quantity surveyor for Birmingham City Council.
