• While the West Midlands economy has seen a slowing of growth it is still out performing the UK
• Export demand is holding up well and employment prospects remain good in many parts of the region
• The healthy flow of in inward investment is continuing despite the challenging economic environment – bucking national trends  
• After a record year for tourism in 2017, growth has continued into 2018
