‘The commitment by the BBC to ensure more prime time television and radio output is commissioned and produced here, is very welcome. This coupled with the intention to make the region a centre of excellence for training and skills development in a sector that can provide new opportunities for our young people is both timely and critical, given the impact of the pandemic.
 
This region is re-establishing itself as a centre for innovative content creation and the BBC’s commitment will help attract further inward investment and bolster the talented independent  production sector we have here’
