“The impact of ongoing rail strikes is being felt keenly across the West Midlands economy, with our hospitality sector being one of the areas affected.

"Sadly, at a time when bars, restaurants and nightclubs are already struggling to regain lost ground after the pandemic, UKHospitality is estimating that industrial action in December and January will cost the sector £1.5 billion – adding to the range of headwinds that hospitality businesses are grappling with.

"This will be a major priority for the forthcoming West Midlands Tourism & Hospitality Board and we will be working closely with partners and affected businesses on a regional response to the crisis.”
